Duchy Originals Lemon biscuits are baked with the sharp zest of Sicilian organic lemons, which are slowly crystallised in boiling sugar syrup. This creates a sophisticated contrast to the finely baked crispness and rich butter taste of the biscuit. The biscuits are baked using wheat sourced from the Duchy Home Farm at Highgrove, Gloucestershire, and other organic farms in Britain. Most of the biscuits use a traditional variety of wheat called Maris Widgeon, which grows tall to outpace weeds and provides protection for birds and insects on organic farms.

Duchy Originals embodies HRH The Prince of Wales' commitment of providing natural, high quality, organic and premium products while helping to protect and sustain the countryside and wildlife. In turn it helps generate profits for charity rather than commercial gain. In 1996 Highgrove and the surrounding Duchy House Farm gained full organic status. Now Duchy Originals now produces a large range of delicious food products.

Vegetarian - These products all state that they are vegetarian / vegan on their packaging. Items that are naturally suitable for vegetarians are not included.

Gluten-Free - These products all carry an on-pack claim stating that they are gluten free.

Ethical - To classify as ethical all of these products have had to meet Joshua’s own strict ethical criteria, meaning we consider them to be ethically produced.

Biodynamic - Biodynamic products are those that have been produced using biodynamic methods. More information on biodynamic agriculture .

Local - Local products have all been produced in Devon or within one hour of our store.

Wheat-Free - These products all claim they are wheat free on their packaging

Joshua’s - These products are all either Joshua’s branded, or made by our chef and his team here on site.
