This bath oil labelled "for Someone Special" is a luxuriously relaxing blend of Rose, Chamomile, Sandalwood and Bergamot & Evening Primrose. It is designed to relax the mind whilst providing a gentle moisturising treatment for the skin. Rose has a very gentle but strong uplifting & balancing effect and it has been prized by all cultures since the beginning of civilisation. In Western myth the rose is believed to symbolise the blood of Adonis, whilst in the East it is said to have originated from the blood of Venus. The early Christians dedicated the rose to the Virgin Mary & Divine Love. In Europe in the Middle Ages when the monasteries were responsible for providing medical & hospital care. Roses were a dominant feature in any medicinal herb garden. Chamomile has a calming action which makes it ideal for hyperactive individuals or the chronic worriers. It is a useful oil to use to soothe skin conditions. It is believed to be useful for those people who tend to succumb to "bugs" when they are working very hard. Chamomile has been used for over 2000 years for calming mental & emotional trauma. Its name derives from the Greek Kamai meaning ground apple because of its fresh fruity scent. It was called Maythen by the Saxons & was revered as one of their nine sacred herbs. It was later adopted by the Christians & dedicated to Saint Anne who was the mother of the Virgin Mary. In the language of flowers chamomile stands for "Patience in adversity". It is often known as the "Plants Physician" because it seems to improve the health of the plants within its immediate vicinity. The blend also includes Sandalwood which is very helpful for individuals who are prone to feeling "pressurised". The wonderful properties of Sandalwood have been recognised for thousands of years & across most cultures. It is also believed to be a "spiritual oil" & in some Eastern religions is referred to as the "oil of divinity" (i.e. endless life). The blend is finished with Evening Primrose which has been added for its positive effect on the skin.
