What is Biodynamic Farming?
Biodynamic agriculture is a system of organic farming. Biodynamic products are alike to organic products in that they use no pesticides or herbicides. The ideas behind biodynamics are based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian philosopher who held a spiritualistic and holistic understanding of humans and nature. What is key to biodynamic farming is the view of the farm as an organism, and therefore something that needs to be treated as a closed self-nourishing system. It is concerned with the sun, moon, planets and stars, and the influence they have on agricultural ecosystems.
